We know that visiting a church for the first time can be a little uncomfortable and awkward. Our desire is that our guests would feel that visiting Sent Church is more like visiting with extended family. Our style is informal and casual and you will find our church family warm and inviting.
Our weekend service currently starts at 10 AM and the half hour prior to the start of the service is spent sharing in a light snack, sipping coffee, chatting with friends and meeting new people.
A worship team leads the congregation in songs at the start of the service and at the closing of the service. Children from grades K-5 join us for worship and then are dismissed to their class. From time to time, we do invite people to pray for one another in small groups.
The sermon, or message, is based on the Bible and is designed to help us understand God and to grow as Christ followers. We mainly teach expositionally, that means we are going verse by verse through a book of the Bible. At times, the message is interactive and congregants are invited to share in the discussion.
After the sermon we enter into a time of communion to thank God and remind ourselves of our love and need for Jesus Christ. Giving is encouraged through placing an offering in the Generosity boxes that are at the communion table. We don't pass an offering plate as we trust that people will give as the Holy Spirit prompts them to in response to the message. Many stay after the service to talk and go have lunch together.
Children are very important to us. Partnering with parents in the spiritual development of their children is something that we count as a privilege to do. We have childcare for infants and toddlers and Sent2 Kids is for children grades K-5. Sign up for Sent2 Kids is in the lobby and a host team member can direct parents to our infants and toddler room. Sent2 Kids will join us for the worship portion of our service as we strongly believe in the power of intergenerational worship and our children being part of the adult gathering rather than segregating them for the entire service.
Casual and informal is our style. You are welcome to wear your Sunday best or dress casually. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
